Laboratoř dendrochronologie – Katedra fyzické geografie a geoekologie Přf UK

History of the laboratory

The beginnings of the lab began in 2007, when it was purchased measuring table and began work on dendrochronological dating flood events and to study the dynamics of spruce stand on the top edge of the forest.

The basic focus of the laboratory

Dating disturbance using macroscopic and microscopic indicators: avalanches, landslides, floods, translating riverbeds;
Dendroklimatologie spruce and pine;
Analysis of the growth of trees in terms of temperature limited at the upper limit of the forest (stand dynamics, dendroklimatologie, xylogeneze).

The laboratory equipment

-Basic Width measurements of tree rings: 2 sliding measuring tables TimeTable + sw TRAP; sw WinDendro Density with a scanner.
– Current sw for detrending procedure and other statistical operations (DPL, DendroClim )
– Preparation of microscopic samples and surface preparation bores Sled micro- Meopta, Microtome WSL 1, WSL Core microtome; Brusírna.
An analysis of microscopic samples: 2 Microscopes with camera, sw WinCell Pro; equipped chemical laboratory.
